The Maiden and the Koi fish by SaraFyretail

The koi fish, ever so graceful.the koi has no name other than koi
in the stone garden of a young maiden there is one small pond with the water crystal clear it held a single pure white koi the young maiden went out to the pond and visited the koi every day, putting the tip of her finger in the water
letting the koi brush the tip with his head and his dorsal fin
they enjoyed each others company the maiden would tell of her worries to the koi and the koi would listen and tried to comfort her however the young maiden became ill and only visited the koi a few minuets a day for she could not stay out side as long a she would have liked this made the koi's water be come blue and murky she'd visit the koi daily as her illness worsened it was weekly she visited, then monthly, eventually every once in a while the koi's water became more murky and blue for each day, month, and year the young maiden did not visit eventually the maidens illness got bad enough where it killed her and the koi never knew until ten years after her illness and they carried he body out in her uncovered coffin when the dear koi saw her lifless body he was struck with grief sorrow and broken hearted pain
the koi's water was no longer crystal clear or a blue murkiness
i was a murky-grey and the koi was no longer pure white the koi was pitch black he never swam in that pond he just floated at the very bottom and slept and dreams of his beloved maiden one time while lay at the bottom of the pond he felt a woman touch the top of the pond the koi looked up to see the young maiden koi became pure white once more the water around him stayed murky-grey and he didn't feel water going through his gills.when he was right next to the young maiden he wasn't in the water he looked down to see a grief strucken koi fish laying at the bottom of the pond the koi fish was dead he was shocked by this for he did not know when he had died he didn't care of that now he was with the young maiden and he was able to swim in the stars with her the maiden and koi were happy that's all that mattered..
