A younger version reference for my Fire Sovereign! ;;; ( Something I just wanted to get done before I started working on my Freebie Friday stuff. )

When he'd been younger and first "born", Fire was a very arrogant Sovereign. u vu
He was often ruffled up by the "bad" Sovereigns. ( War, Famine, and a little later on Plague. ) Always pointing out to him just how destructive and great his power was. Joking about he was the God of Gods as the sun brought life to the plants the mortals needed to live. Fire, which could burn and destroy many things too. Which led him to constantly run around yelling "I'm the Emperor,"

He spoke, and even in his older years, in baby English. Knowing Mandarin Chinese as his first tongue.
This is one reason he goes on to be mute. As he completely understands English, but cannot coherently speak it. And has no real intentions to learn to speak it, either. Another reason that he goes on to be mute is because in these younger years he loved to not control the smoke and fire that came out in his speech. It made him look more intimidating and powerful, and that also carries on into his later years. In his later years he simply just doesn't want to discomfort others with the smoke or fire, or possibly even harm them.

It was hard for even Knowledge to get a hold of him for his duties. The major one being for when the Solar Eclipse took place. Out of rebellion he avoided actually going to the temple for it, but also because he hated his old ceremonial clothes. ( Which is the doodle in the top left hand corner. ) It simply was a "dumb" jacket and a "dumb" hat with "dumb" shoes. Everything was still the same clothes that he wore generally. He still took care of the sun's position, just not there and in those clothes.

It's not until later, when he finally came into contact with Ice/Moon Sovereign that he actually started to attend the ceremonies for their Eclipses. Even with the dumb clothes, especially while in front of this being he didn't understand his feelings towards.

When he first met the Ice Sovereign he didn't understand anything about him. He was cold to the touch, and he often witnessed the other "melting" when he spoke too close to him and without covering his mouth. Angrily he would bare his fangs at him, and just run off to melt away some of the domain. After a while the Ice Sovereign found it humorous to leave sculptures for the young Sovereign to have to destroy as well. Which only confused him more.
Eventually he tried to actively speak to him, covering his mouth or staying a good distance away from him so not to harm him. Which was, confusing in itself for Knowledge when Ice told him about it.

Time goes on and on and eventually Fire grew up to be the calm Sovereign that everyone knows today.
The "bad" Sovereigns often remind him of his younger days and try to rile him up desperately in an attempt to get him to cause some destruction.
