The Lady (Imp) of the Lake by Saatchi

The seas were as calm as the sky that sat above them, so much so, that they appeared to blend into one the further out you looked. A lone wolf sat at the edge of a rickety pier, repeatedly casting his fishing line into the water, in the hopes of catching something worthy of a meal. He’d spent the last few hours on that pier, and had yet to catch a single thing. Still he soldiered on, his stomach growling fiercely as it yearned for some sustenance. His arms ached from the constant swinging of the rod, so much so that he felt as though they might pop loose at any moment. The wolf shivered as the cold night air set in around him. The fish just weren’t biting tonight, and as a result it was looking more and more likely that his dinner plans were going to have to change or die. He had hoped he’d catch something and have a nice fresh meal for a change. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders, trying to warm himself up as he continued to fish. He wasn’t a quitter, but even he knew that sometimes there just wasn’t any other option. Despite that he decided that he’d throw another hour away into the water and then he’d head for home. He pulled his jacket tighter over his furry body and buckled down to work.

An eerie fog began to settle around the jetty obscuring his view of the water. That wasn’t a problem for most of fishermen, but for this one, seeing the water or at least the reflections of the lights on the water’s surface, was pretty helpful to him. Regardless he swung the rod behind him and then forwards again, casting his line into the obscured water. He stared off into the grey fog, trying to focus on where he assumed his lure had settled. He strained his eyes to see through the swirling grey. It was at that point he heard a soft splash coming from somewhere else on the lake. His ears pricked up as the sound rang through his ears, echoing in his mind. It was slightly unnerving to hear the sound, as he was almost certain that he had been the only one present at the lake. Now he couldn’t shake the idea that someone or something else had shown up and was patrolling the lake, watching him. He guessed that no person in their right mind would jump into a lake, at night, in the already cold temperatures. That is of course that this thing was in fact a person, and not some aquatic animal that had made its home in the lake. He tried not to dwell on the sound, unless it was made again, then it would inevitably eat away at him. He reeled in the line a little, making his lure look just that little bit more attractive to any fish that might be in the water. He tried to keep his focus on his fishing, but he always found his eyes drifting to stare off in the direction of the sound. The fur on the back of his neck stood up as he felt an eerie presence surround him.

As the night wore on, the light around him began to fade. The flickering lights from the homes in the distance gradually extinguished, the moon his behind the clouds and the night took full effect. The wolf knew the fog hadn't gone, despite the complete lack of light. He could still picture the field of grey hovering in front of him, obscuring his own hands in front of his face. He rubbed his eyes and looked back out onto the lake, only to be met with two green glows in the fog. The more he stared into them, the more he seemed to form the shape of a pair of eyes. Was this whatever had made the splash a few moments ago? The eyes seemed to be coming from the surface of the lake, or to a finer point, under the water's surface. He peered closer, the stare of these mysterious eyes seemed to lull him towards them. It was similar to a siren or a mermaid and how they lured people to their deaths. Even with that in mind, the wolf couldn't bring himself to look away. They were beautiful, like a shiny jade artefact, and certainly just as precious.

The jetty began to creak under the weight of the wolf as he teetered on the edge of it. His brain screamed at him to just lean back and look away, to turn around and go home, but try as he might he just couldn't do it. The eyes were too entrancing, bordering on hypnotic. His brain then shot into overdrive, trying to beat back those conflicting messages. None of his limbs would respond to his efforts, so he remained still staring into the lake. The only thing it seemed that his brain could actually have any control over, was his eyelids, and even then it was only for seconds at a time. He deployed his counter offensive tactics and as a direct result, he began to flutter his eyelids, almost as though he was flirting with the creature in the lake. This wasn't the case of course, this was a clever plan to break his line of sight with the creature. With each rapid succession of blinking, his mind felt a welcome clarity to it. He leant back and scooted away from the edge of the jetty, and the eyes in the lake. As he backed up, he was sure he caught sight of a toothy grin beneath those mischeivious eyes. He turned away from the lake and began to disassemble his fishing rod, looking to make a quick getaway. He was mere moments away from getting up and leaving, when he heard another splash, followed by a soft giggle. Curiosity got the better of the wolf and he turned back to the water once more.

There he found a small, fiery, red haired, female face staring back at him. She didn't have the bright green eyes that he had seen previously. However the smile that he thought he saw, turned out to be real and she was definitely sporting it. Two pointed fangs overlapped most of her grin, poking into her bottom lip. Her ears were pointed at the tip, curving into her head about halfway down, then back out to another pointed tip at the bottom. He hadn't even noticed that the fog had thinned somewhat to allow him to even catch a glimpse of her. He was more interested in just how strange she looked. Her hair was pointed up towards the sky, despite the fact that she'd just risen out from the water. The other thing he noticed was that her face seemed smoother than any other species the wolf had ever seen. It was like she had been born as some sort of aquatic animal, but had grown into an anthropomorphic female body. It was baffling. Neither of them said a word to the other, but the creature did splash around in the water, looking very inviting. Of course the wolf knew better than to just jump into a lake with a complete stranger. So instead he busied himself with his packing up, and got to his feet, ready to walk off and not look back. No sooner had he taken a step away from the edge of the jetty, did he hear a voice call out from the lake.

"Don't go..."

The wolf paused and foolishly let those words dance around his mind. They were soothing and softly spoken, they had a similar effect as the eyes, meaning that they made him want to get closer. Closer to the creature in the lake. Despite the wolf's adamancy to leave, he almost felt he'd be doing that heavenly voice a disservice if he didn't at least turn around. To his surprise, he found that upon turning around, the creature had somehow managed to prop itself up on the edge of the jetty, but something seemed off. The jetty stood at least four and half feet off the surface of the water, and even further or the lakebed. So how had this creature managed to reach up so high? Another thing he noticed was that she didn't seem as petite as she had when he saw her the first time. Her head and hair alone seemed to reach well up to his chest. Something was seriously wrong, and as far as the wolf could tell, they seemed to be getting worse. He couldn't be completely certain as to whether it was a trick of the low light, or something else, but the creature appeared to be getting bigger. Her head appeared to grow bigger and wider, and her smile with them. Those fangs of hers joined in, looking even sharper and pointier than they had to start with. More of her white teeth were revealed to the wolf as her smile grew, and it made him feel uneasy. As if to reaffirm his worries, the pier began to creak under the increasing weight of the creature. But just as it seemed like the pier was about to split apart, sending the wolf tumbling into the dark waters, the creatures fell backwards and disappeared from view with an almighty splash.

Any sane person would have made a break for home, but not this wolf. He took a step closer to the edge and peered into the dark abyss. That proved to be a foolish endeavour as the moment he looked over the edge, his vision was filled with a red jungle of hair, rushing to greet him. He jumped back, which proved to be a lifesaving move. After the hair rushed past the jetty, the smirking face came after, that grin still as wide as ever. But it was the part that came after that which made his move so vital. Two enormous mounds of flesh burst through the end of the jetty, sending splinters of wood cascading through the air. As the creature rose higher and higher into the air, the wolf couldn't help but marvel at her stunning form. The two mounds of flesh were revealed to be breasts, round and voluptuous breasts, pert and youthful. They were practically faultless, and just as smooth as the rest of her body. The wolf scurried up the jetty, stopping only once his hand touched the grassy slope. He found that he could see her gigantic body in all its curvavious glory. The fog seemed to have thinned out around her, just so that he could see her. Thanks to the thinned out fog he could see that the majority of her body was coloured in a sea blue. Apart from a white stripe that seemed to start at her face, and went all the way down to her stomach. The wolf's gaze followed that stripe all the way to its end. From there, it drifted to her hips, and what a sight they were. Water drooled off them as they cleared the lake. They were so smooth, and curvy that the wolf found himself falling into a daydream. He could just picture himself relaxing on those delicious, thick hips. He shook his head and felt around for his fishing rod, only to find he had left it on the jetty.

"Looking for this?" came a slightly deeper and more mature voice from the creature.

The wolf squinted at the creature, taking note of her hand, which seemed to be pinching thin air. He got to his feet and shakily took a few steps forward, focusing on her pinched fingers. There, between her finger and thumb was his lost fishing rod. It was so high up, it was practically invisible against the dark sky. He could only really see it because of the difference in colour, between the blue hand and the brown rod. He stepped onto one of the few planks that hadn't been destroyed by the creature's stellar breasts or thighs. He looked into the creature's eyes and did his best to work up a temper.

"Hey! That's not yours, give it back!" he yelled.

"What good will it do you? You haven't caught a thing all night," replied the creature, picking her teeth with the rod.

"A-all n-night? Have you been watching me all this time?"

The creature didn't reply, instead she sprawled out on her front, sending tidal waves of water out from under her. The wolf was unfortunate enough to find himself on the receiving end of one of those waves. He was soaked through, and the cold night air felt even more intense as a result. The wolf could only imagine just how much of the lake she spanned, certainly one side to the other. He remained steady on the undamaged plank, starting to shiver as he got colder. The creature continued to pick her teeth with the fishing rod, showing off a complete lack of respect for the wolf.

"What do you want with me? What have I done?"

"You obviously haven't heard of me, or else you would know better than to speak to me like that.," growled the giantess.

"Well...uhm...who are you?" the wolf asked, sheepishly.

The fishing rod snapped between her fingers as the creature realised this poor wolf was serious. She got closer to the wolf, so close that her chin pressed up against his toes. Her warm breath washed over him, the sweltering heat from it was a welcome change to the cool air.

"I am Joolira, a sea witch and you and I, are in for quite a night..." whispered Joolira.

So, once upon a time, myself and meisterli meisterli were talking, and as a result of this talk, an image was commissioned from the artist known as T-Bone. After the artist completed the image, I said how easily you could write a backstory for that image, so that's what I did. Maybe in the future there'll be more images, and then I can continue this story, or maybe I'll continue it regardless.

Image that I just talked about can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11454764/

Story is mine.
