The summit of Mt Cannon has a nice trail that runs from the Observatory Tower back to the Tram lifts. I love being high enough to see the cloud shadows pass over the landscape. This point is about 2200 feet above the highway below (though Cannon is a 4000ft, don't ask me how the calculate this stuff).
