Looks like you definitely have control of a pen, but the build-up lines that remain distract from the overall picture. Investing a few dollars in a set of inking pens and 2-4H pencils, or even turquoise will save you a lot of grief and provide a better overall picture when scan them in.

    You can do better than MS Paint. There are open-source vector programs and even Photoshop clones that can provide you with a better image. Still, I can't recommend enough using pencils and artist ink pens.
