Thunder lives in an underground society where they hide from whatever it is that invaded their planet many years ago - Iro is one of those things, albeit the plushie here is just a representation of one for kids to play with (like teddy bears and toy sharks) and Thunder eventually modifies it to look like his monstrous friend.
