This is the oldest surviving picture of Roland, done by a friend of mine all the way back in 2002. At the time, I was trying (and failing) to get into Counterstrike with him, and he doodled this action scene for my 17th birthday, saying it was more flattering than, you know, when I actually played and died immediately.

Funny because I wouldn't actually get into firearms and marksmenship for literally 20 more years, but hey, at least now you know why Roland is wearing rebel clothing for the next decade.
