So this took a while. I started on it back about 2 months ago or...maybe longer I dunno. Anyway I can't remember his name but he's from a story I concocted 5 or 6 years ago. it was pretty long, although I don't remember all of the details. And when I say story I mean it was a continuous daydream I slipped into because apparently life sucks enough that a battle to the death seems more appealing. I had written a series of songs and poems about it, which I will be continuously beating myself over losing.
Anyway about the story. This guy, that guy up there I'm gonna call him Colin for now because I think his name started with a C, anyway Colin's wife was murdered by a man, I'll call Bob. So Bob is rumored to have this power that can only be gained through a near death experience. I think how it worked was if one could somehow control where their spirit wandered in the moments between dying and passing on to the afterlife then they could travel to another realm and gain said power, then make it back to the living. An understandably difficult thing. So Colin went after it so he could kill Bob. And he definitely got it. And then a bunch of crap happened that I don't remember well. There was a huge showdown between him and Bob and Colin was victorious. From there it just dropped downhill, because yeah he got his revenge, but for multiple "reasons" in the end he killed himself. A bit..interesting considering he basically had to do so to get the power in the first place. And yeah well that's the story behind it.
The picture itself ..well some things I like and some I don't love. I don't love some parts of the shading, but I really like the overall design. I like the outfit for what it is and him in general, he ended up looking exactly how I wanted him to despite the difficulty I had drawing his age. Never decided exactly how old he was but probably between 45-50. Never drawn anyone that looked over the age of like 30, but I do think it's good to be able to draw characters of varying ages.
