An old character I had recently redesigned for a specific continuity:

Currently a crewmate on Rhodes' ship, Hikaru is a slightly odd "work hard, play hard" type, constantly wanting to prove her worth to the captain (all the while being jealous of her) so she wouldn't be seen as worthless.

Prior to this, she was one of a number of young ones trained for various under the table skills, be it assassination, surveillance, etc. Her work ethic also stemmed from the fact that her eyesight was failing at a young age, and put in extra effort to be seen as still viable. Ultimately, though, it was either be useful or find herself tossed aside; whether she would be dead or alive not being known. In preparation for what she perceived as her eventual total blindness, she would wear a blindfold and concentrated on improving her hearing and agility.

In route by ship to some other area, the ship was attacked by Rhodes' crew. Taking the chance to be anywhere but where she was, she attempted to sneak aboard, but was captured. After the battle, she was tied up, although without her blindfold.

It should be noted that, as a foreigner without much of a grasp of english, certain social cues escaped her. As such, when Rhodes' roughhousing crew were having their fun celebrating their plunder, Hikaru saw it as a general friendly gesture. She would perform as such when she would later break out and put one of the crew in a headlock, hoping this would show that she would like to join them. Obviously, they took it the wrong way.

Thankfully, Rhodes' First Mate, Rippah, knew the language Hikaru spoke, and they cleared things up once Hikaru decided to open up. While the captain was initially hesitant on having another crew member on her ship, she decided to let her stay for the time being.

Hikaru is, as mentioned before, fairly agile, and can hear pretty well. And, despite her looks, is of dragon lineage, and carries with it a bit of enhanced durability. In direct combat, however, she is passable.
