Eric Thicke was, and still is, a massive comic nerd, and this led him to deeply research "cloth engineering", namely for various costume enhancements for heroes or local authorities. That said, this and his comic habit has led to him being in a bit of debt, and his particular skills didn't lend themselves much job oppritunites, leading him to become a small time thief. That said, he didn't get too far before being stopped by Regina. Practically begging her to not have him arrested, he gave her an offer: He would design and make her outfits, and he would go clean and not go to jail. Despite being a criminal, the thought of having someone handle her outfits was too good of an oppritunity to pass up, and thus took him up on his offer.

At his place, they would get to know each other more, quickly finding out about their shared love for comics and heroes in general. As their relationship deepened, Elec also managed to get a job at Zinaida's company shortly after she started it up. Through some odd sequence of events during a conversation, Zinaida also trains Eric self-defense while she herself trains.

Eric does have his own ability, able to discharge electricity, leading to his nickname "Elec", as well as "Thick Thunder" sometimes. Despite this ability he sticks to his support role for Regina, as well as being a duitiful employee for Zinaida. While he, like most others, do not know of Zinaida's origins, he does know Nise Hakase, being cousins. However they never had any particularly close relationship, disliking each other for how they act.
