Ren D' Artyle, The Fey-touched Surrogate Heir by Rikki The Black Fox

Ren D' Artyle, The Fey-touched Surrogate Heir

Rikki The Black Fox

So I had posted a pic of Ren as a Valentine's Day drawing and forgot that I hadn't even posted a real picture of him before.

So, this is Ren D'Artyle, Prince of House Artyle and before he got changed, he was chosen as the new upcoming heir after his sister, Raye, was exiled due to their father. Soon after, before Ren could take the throne, his father had sent him out on a grand expedition to get on-the-field experience and gain power worth ruling a kingdom with. Well...Ren would certainly find such in no time.

Soon after he started, Ren actually came across a great discovery. A magical portal that had just enough remaining juice to work for a little while. With a little manufacturing experience (and more than a few bouts of button mashing) he managed to get it to activate, the portal forming a passageway to a different plane. There, he came upon contact with an otherworldly being, whom promised to give him incredible power. Power that would thwart and surprise enemies, gain the adoration of many, even his foes, and stand out amongst his peers if he was to agree to form a pact with them. Sign a contract, if you will. Well, naive as the prince was, he accepted it, and would reap what he sow. Immediately after agreement, his hair starting gaining purple highlights within it, and the being revealed themselves to Ren in his mind. What he had agreed to was to form a pact with the Archfey. As she started to giggle within his head of all the things she had planned for her new little errand boy, the portal shut down, the agreement finalized.

At first, it wasn't so bad. He did indeed have incredible powers for sure, so what's a little change in hair? Then, his hair started to turn completely purple. Then his fur started to turn pastel pink. Then his hips started to widen. By now it was obvious, much to Ren's expense and embarrassment that the Archfey really does intend to make look fitting for working under a whimsical being as a magical boy~ What's to happen once he has to return home to possess the throne now, he constantly wonders? But each and every time, the Archfey reassures him that it'll be fine and to enjoy the changes. She did choose him for a reason after all.

Besides, what's more fitting a jab at a man who exiles their daughter for being trans than to have her replacement turn even more effeminate than her?

Ren is a Fighter/Warlock I have in a fun D&D session. He essentially uses gunkata, using his rapier and revolver to fight in a rather flexible and flamboyant manner in both melee and ranged. Being blessed with great magical ability and prowess he could also cast his spells from his gun, so watch out to anyone who he's aiming at. His adorable looks certainly don't mean he's weak by any means. You don't wanna deal with someone who could essentially fan the hammer with Eldritch Blasts.

He's certainly extremely self-conscious of his looks, tending to be bashful when he isn't trying to make himself look professional and he's prone to being particularly (and adorably) grumpy when people compliment him. Though, deep down, he really has been appreciative of his looks, from how his mom had always enjoyed how sweet and kind he was, and also enjoying how it feels to look cute and being able to also feel what it was like for his sister to have lived the life she had before being exiled, always caring deeply for her. Notably, if Ren were ever successful in grabbing the throne of House Artyle, he would immediately revert his sister's exile and offer the position to his sister, as it was to originally go to her, and he feels she is much more deserving of it than he for what she has had to deal with.

Ren is very prideful, but he is also sweet, kind, and caring and certainly does his best to support his friends. Even if everyone does tend to tease him for his looks.
