Okage: Shadow King

It's a pretty unique RPG with a fascinating style, and it's the reason I wanted a PS2 back when it came out. It can be a bit grindy, repetitive, and throw stupidly hard bosses at you sometimes. In all honesty the game play is a bit on the mediocre side but everything else about it is lovable. Oh yeah, instant game over of Ari (Protagonist) dies in a battle.

Sad thing is we'll never see another game like this probably due to the way the industry is progressing.
