I really like this track also I am tempted to ask what this is about, since whatever the lyrics are about completely eludes me.

The chorus seems to insist that the narrator/singer is less than human and fucking horrifying,

Which just makes me want to adopt this as some kind of personal thing because that part reminds me of how I feel whenever I realize I've fucked up and made an ass of myself with someone and can't fix it.

Except that seems inappropriate especially since it disregards the rest of the song's lyrics

TL;DR: good song. But what is it about?

nailed it in full. "the world before my eyes / quicksand" is the hole you dig yourself while you fuck up, "i tangle in the wind / and sever my hands" is the removal of responsibility in an attempt to tell yourself that you've done nothing wrong, "i am ready to become useful" is lack of self-worth working its way into the chorus' continued stewing on the same subject.

I love the lyrics. The song speaks to me, for an unknown reason.

I love the contrast between the gentle singing and the harsh backing from the music, it makes for a very unique and striking piece. *o*

And the lyrics are really elegant too aa

Ah gosh I'm glad you're taking your time with this one cause this and Woodgrain sound excellent. What I really love is that even when your work and tastes change you can still hear the heart of it and it's still recognizable to me as something you'd release under this moniker (also noting I like the fact when you feel a particular sound has run its course for you, you retire them).

Like both the songs so far feel very relatable to me too and I've caught myself listening to them even more so in particular situations.

This song in particular though, the melody and the vocals, they just feel more like they get lost in that feeling of losing ones grip on things in their life and the sense of worthlessness. It just manages to really drive home the meaning of the lyrics.
