Eons ago before the incident of the Ark, Shadow was still being developed when suddenly an intruder broke into the lab and attacked Professor Robotnik and it was Black Doom who wanted to take the experiment away from him. That's when Maria heard the commotion and went to see what was going on and that's when Shadow came too and broke out of is capsule to help the professor, but with his left arm and left leg were not fully form. However, Black Doom reappear and tries to kill both Maria and the Professor but, shadow block the attack while not having an left arm to block his second attacked suffered a wound on left eye. Then, while dazed and confused Black Doom grab to deal with the finishing blow, but that's when Maria grab the nearest thing which a experimental ray gun and fired it at Black Doom. However, the professor was near the blast and cause an explosion of their atoms fusing together as one being with his remaining conscientious pushed both Maria and Shadow into the escape pod so they can be safe from what he becoming with tears in their eyes said well save you no matter what... Years have past, and Both Shadow and Maria were wonders saving the innocent from the ternary of their former friend who is now and forever named Dr.Black...
