I had been asked to create a scientific illustration for my botany professor's online book, Flora of North Dakota. I had picked through some samples of native species of plants and this one seemed to be the best to work with.
Species: Symphoricarpos occidentalis; western snowberry
The book can be found here: http://ashipunov.info/shipunov/fnddb/shipunov20140505_flora_of_north_dakota_illustrated_checklist.pdf
It is a large PDF (>90MB) but I would appreciate you checking it out if you have the time. I have edited the book in the past, too.
The book is public domain and thus is free to look at or use.
Thanks for looking at the book, for those who actually do. :p
Please don't use the image without permission as it was intended to be used solely for this book.

Ha, stipple. I find that this kind of style looks best if I unfocus my eyes and make my vision blurry.
