The Ratgregory use an almost mythical power source to power their starships. These creatures are even considered to be from another realm of existence, but the Ratgregory would state that they are very common in all realms of existence. These lighting drakes might look they are bonded to the core of the starships, but that is far from the truth. The lighting drakes are kept docile by surrounding and having them wear their favorite metal, silver. This also allows high conductivity to capture these creatures electrical discharge and power the Ratgregory's massive starships. One should never attack a Ratgregory starships and wake a slumbering lighting drake for if you do, the Ratgregory's lighting arrays become overcharged and deal far more powerful attacks.
