I'm not very good at expressing sadness. More than anything, situations that stress me out or would constitute as sad simply make me unmotivated, sleepy, and quiet. I never cry, so instead I'll use my frustration to draw and channel it through Rath.

Being a shape-shifter, Rath's emotions, or brain waves if you will, are directly influential to her look and body's constitution. In moments of weakness she loses shape and form, and sort of "melts". Of course, she could do this on command but emotional stress makes her unable to maintain a solid form very well. This may cause her to "bleed out" as her body fluids wouldn't be contained well, and in this cause it was so severe her heart slipped through her flesh.
That wouldn't actually happen often, this case was simply for effect.
