Ransom

Here's a little business card I threw together for Neive, so she'll have something to distribute at Further Confusion! Unlike my last card, this one wasn't made from scratch; I edited some existing art assets. The super-cute logo was originally drawn by Quaggy — I vectorized it, then scaled and kerned the typography. The equally super-cute image on the back of the card is a drawing from Neive, herself.

I chose a portrait orientation in this design for two reasons: one, it worked out well with the thought bubble on the back; and two, that's typically the way people distribute business cards to one-another. Pretty much nobody will hold it out in a landscape orientation.

As for the rounded borders — Neive was originally interested in die-cutting to get rounded cards, but Vistaprint didn't have that option. I was able to soften the appearance without changing the shape of the card itself by adding that rounded border. It suits the organic and bubbly design of the artwork, I think.

Be on the lookout for these at Further Confusion 2014!
