So it's been like forever since I actually tried drawing something seriously, mostly been just doodling this front-facing raccoon I made, trying different expressions. Then recently I found Gazpacho's stream and got a little inspired, and I've been sketching lots of pretty badly drawn raccoons ever since :B
I'm fairly happy with this one, mostly because I like how the sideview turned out (had to reposition the ears and redraw some stuff, but I think it looks good D:). I know it's pretty basic stuff (or should be), but last time I tried it was a very discouraging :/
Oh, also coloring was pretty hard :/ Originally I was going for a cleaner look, but I was trying to many things at once (including getting used to a tablet again, aka. wonky lineart) and it wasn't looking good at all, so I cheated and went with a rough looking brush D: I also suck at making sense of shadows/highlights, so I had to look at some references. Looks okayish. Also some Photoshop magic to make it look good. I feel dirty D:
Anyway, I guess the experiment went well: tried a different angle, used new brush settings, got comfortable again with the tablet, and uhmm... yeah.
:B
