He looked down and saw the final changes happening to his hands as they reshaped themselves into paws and grew deadly claws. It always took some effort and focus to avoid the change in public and he was well versed in doing that. But in order to fit in with the crowd at the bar and socialize, he decided to drink something this time. For a bit, everything seemed to be fine...
However now, still holding the new drink and much too late to stop the swift change, he realized that he overestimated his self-control. He put the glass down, sighed, looked dejectedly around and slowly walked towards the door. He noted with trepidation how the people on his way were giving him a wide berth and avoided eye contact with him - the outcast.
