Once again the couple I love to portray, John Wolf and Jack Fox (still got no better names for them…), and this time in a non-sexual context for a change. Although I don’t know what kind of movie they’re watching, on the other hand ;-) Probably just something romantic, with the Kleenex box ready if Jack starts to cry, which did happen at certain occasions, when snuggling up to his boyfriend like this…

Besides the rather placid and unspectacular scene I was depicting here, this drawing means a bit more to me for the following reasons: I was able to compose this rather complex pose without needing the help of any references, something I couldn’t have done a short while ago. I really feel my sense of depth and dimension growing, if that makes any sense to you ;) This is also a bit of a departure from the style I drew in traditional so far. I felt it stagnating, and was not very satisfied with my fur texture, so I tried something knew of which I hope it looks a bit more organic as it did in the past.

I was also incorporating the advice a fellow artist and friend Liimlsan on FA gave me. Him being on the path to a professional cartoonist and animator, he was easily able to spot the weak parts in my drawing, such as skull shapes and anatomy that reminds of socialist realism XD I tried to improve on this areas, and will more so in coming drawings. I also worked with his advice on backgrounds, and did some lighting, something I haven’t used so far in traditional artworks.
