Joe going plantigrade by Rahir

Joe going plantigrade

Rahir

My OC Joe Wolf is standing there as if he's saying "look, my feet are plantigrade all of a sudden! And I'm also drawn with a marker!"

This pic was a testrun for a new medium for me: ink from a felt tip pen. Some while ago I talked with LiimLsan on FA about copic markers, and he told me how expensive they are in purchase, and how tricky in use. It still fascinated me seeing how other traditional artists incorporate them in their artwork.

When I recently found out that Faber-Castell has sets of affordable markers in artist quality in their line-up, I bought a smaller set just to try them out. What I did here was making a ground layer with colored pencil, and went over it with a marker of the same color. It's really something I have to get used to, since I never drew with anything other than lead pens of different kinds since grade school, but I will say I already like the intense color and brush-like strokes I can do with these markers :-)
