Ricky was born in Germany during the late 1800s. A string of misfortunes occurred: born with an unusual fur color, his mother died during childbirth, and later, his own father abandoned him. Ricky had to survived on his own as a teenager and well into adulthood, where the core sins of mortals left him apathetic to the world. This apathy ate away his moral compass and he committed crimes after crimes to survive as an underdog. This all changed when a trip to England to extend his grave robbery ended with an encounter with an undead girl reanimated after centuries spent in her makeshift grave. She, like him, had a history of misfortunes that blurred her memories and made her unable to recall her own name. Ricky felt a rush of overwhelming emotions he never experienced before. He felt sympathy. He felt sadness. He felt love.

To live forever with Emily, his dearest Emily, Ricky used his wits to become the next Grim Reaper even though he cared little about the position – and that lack of care contributed to the corruption in the Afterworld. It does not matter. Ricky only cared about being with Emily. This was for her – everything, all of this, all for her, he loved her.

Satan has a fascination of Ricky solely because he was suppose to be in Hell and yet, he somehow avoided his years of punishment. Not only that, but Ricky’s apathy has become a game to Satan to try and figure out what would set him off. Without bringing up his wife because, in Satan’s words, “Oh, that would be too easy. There’s no creativity in taking shots at a clear target.”

Satan has come very close. There is one person that was brought up that made Ricky narrow his eyes upon hearing the name.
