Israel 1948 by Rabbi-Tom (critique requested)

Israel 1948 (critique requested)

Rabbi-Tom

I oddly had the desire to try something. I drew the Rabbi in Israel in 1948, shortly after independence. I figured I sketch him up as part of the Pal'Machnik of the Portzim Battalion along the 'Burma Road' towards Jerusalem.

Taking on the Arab legions and Egyptian Army, that ragtag bunch , part of the "Negev Beasts" who raided commando style using jeeps ALA the Rat Patrol. Yes, he's armed with a German made K-98 Mauser, how ironic a twist is that? using the weapons that a former enemy used against you.

Sort of a history twist I put the Rabbi in.

Shit was hardcore back then; I recall reading they used to stamp cases out of blank lipstick containers in underground factories due to arms importation embargo's.
