Pail | Reference Sheet 2018

QueenofWolftria

This has been sitting in my files for months! I finally decided to finish it today. If I remember correctly I did some research on horse body language for this drawing, I'm not sure. Also the two scars on her back, they will fade in color sometimes depending on how long time has passed since she got those scars. On her reference sheet it's more closer to when she got them.

Name: Pail
Gender: Female
Age: 26 Years Old
Height: 16.5 Hands
Status: Alive
Sexuality: Bisexual
Partner: Heolstor
Relatives: Jillian(Daughter)
Village/Kingdom/City: Stoneshire
Place of Origin: Snowpeak

Pail is the foster mother of Essence. She knew Essence and his family before they died during an attack on the village. Pail grew up with Essence's mother, Eathelin, and she even had a crush on her. Although she realized that Eathelin didn't have feelings back she stilled remained friends with her. They were extremely close. Eathelin and Pail both got married and the two families decided to have a child around the same time. Pail gave birth to a black filly named Jillian who look just like her father, Heolstor, and Eathelin gave birth to a cremello colt named Essence. When both the foals were around 5 years old the attack on the village happened. Both Jillian and Heolstor along side Essence's family. Only Pail and Essence survived the attack and after it they both went to the capital of Aylin, Stoneshire. When they both moved to Stoneshire, Pail took the job of a servant for the castle to make enough money for both her and Essence to survive.

Extra Facts
-Originally Pail was going to be a bit older than Essence, however this was scrapped.
-Pail didn't have scars previously, but they were added because Essence had them.
-She didn't have have her blaze marking in previous versions.
-In her first versions, she was born in Stoneshire however it was changed so that she was born in Snowpeak.
-Pail's coat coloring is bay.
-Originally Pail was a bit more redder but I thought that didn't really fit her.

most art I see of horses is either very realistic (or close, like Spirit) or hyper-stylized (like MLP), I don't often see someone's unique personal style simplifying & cartooning horse features-- this is very cute!! I enjoy how large the shoulders and thighs are, and how short the body is! The 'elbow' and 'knee' are so close on a horse, I think this style really pays attention to that!

Aww! Thank you! I really appreciate it. I've been working on my personal style for many years now and it always makes me very happy when people like it.
