This was a final project piece for my Illustration class.
The assignment is called "Animal Disguises." We had to choose and animal and come up with a reason for it to try to disguise itself as something else.
I figured baby sea turtles have been bullied by and eaten enough by seagulls on their epic journey to make it to the water. So this one tries to blend in as a seagull using fallen feathers and dandelion puffs.
Doesn't seem to be going so well...
Oil rub with Prisma colored pencils on 9x12 in. Strathmore 500 cold press board, over 15 hours.
