Jet units are built for flight. All of them have retractable or foldable wings and thrusters built into the heels of their feet. As many jet units fly high, they are commonly fitted with masks and filters that provide oxygen for their remaining organic tissue. Scanners and radars can be fitted in visor form or implanted directly into the unit’s eye. In order to maximize aerodynamics most jet units will have their tails removed and have extra boosters in their coned gauntlets that makes for better steering. When modded for combat jet units may have machine guns, small rockets, or energy blasters equipped in their gauntlets, automatic guns may also be implanted in the wings in case of “dog fighting”. It is important to not that the helmets and masks worn by jet units are usually locked and sealed tight on when equipped and forcibly attempting to remove them is dangerous and ill-advised.

Grapple units are fitted with several extra table limbs, usually attached with heavy duty wire. Whist the first grapple units were seen exclusively in arena matches, they have since been found useful in construction as mini cranes. This fit has also suited mercenaries as their bodies are agile and can grasp objects up to 10 meters away. Due to relatively uncommon incidents involving industrial fans, helicopters, and in one case a wood chipper, modern grapple units have an “eject” feature, in which their wires will detach from their ports in case of entanglement. When fitted for construction, the grapple unit would be equipped with hooks and heavier duty joints to handle larger loads, as well as required to wear hard hats and bright colors. When fitted for combat; harpoons, or morning stars are equipped. The grapple unit shown above has opted to keep his tail, due to a skirmish with a certain Lion, he has needed to replace his left arm and lower half.

Power core units are… “living” generators. They are as the name suggests, equipped with a specialized battery in their torso region. They can generate forcefields and power large vehicles, weapons, and even other units. These units are infamous for their destructive capabilities. They can release devastating blasts of energy that can prove lethal to even some modified life forms. They are also prone to exploding if their battery takes significant direct damage. The Rabbit shown here is equipped with a beam weapon hidden in its throat. Its mouth will split open, and fire a destructive plasma that incinerates all in its wake.

Craboid is an umbrella term for all mechs that have extra limbs. This gimmick is commonly for show and has no real use outside of personal recreation, or arena duels. While clamping claws aren’t unheard of they aren’t a requirement for craboid units.

Tank units are built for the heavy work, including war. Tank units are built with dense armor, with usually at least one cannon or other heavy arms placed on the units back. The first units weren’t meant to think. They were meant to obey. Modern tank units are granted a bit more freedom, but they still have so little biological tissue left that taking back control would be easy. Either way, there still are a few classic models in storage. The treads on all tank models legs are meant to allow movement even when overcumbered, and keep them in place when pushed. They were the first truly successful mech project.

(The idea of wolf tank was inspired by the Titans Return Sixgun toy. He had a tank and wolf form, but hilariously the wolfs head can be revealed while in tank mode, hence tank wolf)

The smoke units are a collection that specialize in releasing plumes of gasses. They can be used for cooking, fumigation, stealth. It all depends on what’s in their tanks. All smoke units have oxygen reserves to keep the living tissue from suffocating.

The Swiss Kitsune is one of a kind. While there are several other subjects that have replaced their tails with mechanized gadgets, they’ve only been able to handle 3 at most, even then it’s hardly well. Swiss however has the ability to handle all nine of her tails, almost as if it were second nature. Only her spine and tails are mechanized, everything else is her natural body. Her fur is short and appears a snowy white, but when grown has silver and brown accents. The “Buzz Tail” is equipped with a buzzsaw, meant for cutting. The “Smash Tail” ends in a large ball, it’s hollow but can compress air inside of it to gain enough inertia to deal heavy damage. The “Drill Tail” is tipped with a powerful drill, hard enough to dig through steel. The “Cam Tail” is able to transmit its view to Swiss at anytime, it includes infrared and night vision. The “Blast Tail” fashions a large gun, at its end, it fires concentrated plasma for long ranges, it can fire roughly 5 times before needing to recharge. The “Pierce Tail” has a thin needle, connected to a container, that can be filled with a liquid in order to inject its contents, into its targets. The “Claw Tail” is an extra helping hand, and the most common tail mod in the market. The… “Cork tail” is simply a cork screw. Even I’m sure they ran out of ideas for this… Finally the “Fluff Tail, is the largest and is able to hide all 8 other tails under its long fur.

Gun units have to most versatile fits and mods, and they’re all intended for violence. Similar to tank units gun units were built for warfare over a century ago, but were more like armors than modifications. Now gun units have weapons implanted in their very beings. They can have mini guns, shot guns, lasers, and rpgs rigged all over their bodies. Some opt for tail mounted firearms or even hide small arms within their mouths.

Armor units have thick armor plating that even rivals the tank units of old. They are notable for their strength and durability. Guarding duties are quite common among these units. Weapon mods are seldom used for these units as implanting them into the units requires using thinner plating and thus less protection. Most of the time armed armor units carry weapons by hand. That said there are recent additions to the armor class that utilize energy fields in stead of cold hard steel. So far they seem effective, but for now the physical units are still dominant.

Blade units due to the nature of these modifications are often more organic than most other units. It simply requires implanting (usually retractable) blades within the individual’s body. Additions such as body enhancement and tail mounted weapons may also be utilized. This “Blade monkey” has implanted arm blades along with strength enhancements, a tail mounted sword, and a computerized visor. In a comparison, the criminal known as “Reaper” is classified as a blade unit, that is infused head to toe with armor plating and machete like fingers, please note we have no affiliation with them. Axes, Rapiers, spikes, and saws, are all mods that fall under the blade class. Almost all blade units participate in the Arena or work as mercenaries.

The hydro roo is another unique specimen. As most local bodies of water are either private pools or artificially made for tourism, there is very little practical, let alone tactical, advantages for having an amphibious build. The roo has had their tail and feet replaced with flippers for maneuvering underwater. There is no exposed wiring and very tight seams in their joints to prevent water damage. Finally is a breathing mod that gives the Roo breathable air. They have no interest in battle or a job description whatsoever. They have also denied torpedoes and jet propulsion outright. How this individual managed to afford modification without a sponsorship or job application is beyond me.

The Toxisheep, the crude precursors of what would become the power core class. Despite their name, some cows and goats have also been part of this nuclear batch. As they were still considered livestock in these times they had little choice in their conversion. They were first designed to handle and store hazardous materials and convert them into a useful substance. It… didn’t work as intended. As radium was a common material they handled, several subjects needed replacement lower jaws. Then came the excretions. Primary exhibited by the sheep, the radioactive material would become infused with their hair follicles, turning them a glowing green and radiating everyone around them, requiring a hazmat covering. Eventually, after a literal meltdown, the whole project was deemed a failure and went back to the drawing board, after several thousand lives were lost. Even as a being as devoted to science as myself, I pity these beings. Very little of these individuals remain and even less retain cognitive thoughts. The toxisheep wool has since been used in weaponry, but has rightfully been outlawed.

The stealth units are a subclass to the jet units. They are modeled after the B2 bombers from the old days. Similar to those jets Stealth units scramble their locations and blend into the night sky to remain hidden. They can fly for days on end, droppable bombs are only given to government approved units and are outlawed in duels and especially mercenary work. These bombs can be replaced with frags, emps, or pulse grenades, they are also equipped with sharp claws for close combat that almost qualify them as blade class.

The Drill snakes are a specialized class. Only serpentine individuals can utilize this build practically. They can burrow several meters into the ground, are quite heat resistant, and are filled with rabidly rotating gyros. On their heads are the main drills that cover their face when burrowing, and opens up in four pieces, when above ground. Drill snakes are also designed to sense vibrations and avoid mines. When in combative situations, they deploy arms from cavities in their sides, that are equipped with whips. They are incredibly useful for infiltration.

I trust this information has been useful. The dissenters need to be dealt with as soon as possible. We are working on new technology to better counter and combat them, some individuals would be quite useful to obtain and study. Mark my words, his regime must crumple, for all our sakes.

Design notes:

The general design of the jet cat is based off of the Seekers from transformers

(Gun rat was also a transformer joke, kingdom rattrap was a cut little toy, but when in rat mode his gun had to be placed on the rat’s thigh, still very visible. And thus, gun rat)

Smoke porcupine is a mortal Kombat reference, in mk3 The character smoke was able to turn into a porcupine, he was also turned into a cyborg in this game

once again, a transformer inspired blade monkey, specifically Optimus primal

The Drill snake was based off of the design of Rampage from Revenge of the Fallen, a decepticon with a snakelike body with whips made of bulldozer tracks.
