This was a sample presented to the committee in charge of that potential children's book gig to show them what I could do. Supposedly they liked it, but I never heard anything after that or even got a cent. Last time I do something like that.
But still, I'm happy with the piece so it'll probably be in whatever portfolio I put together for future job-seeking ventures.

it's so weird o.o that happened to me too, it's like they see your artwork, they like it, and they run away. Never understood that :/

Yeah, who knows? In my case it was a council of little old ladies funding a series of children's books about these characters. The author was local, and although she was a bit of a space case, she and one of the previous artists both seemed really supportive. But I never heard back from the council. Ah well. Sorry to hear it happened to you, too. :(

well, it's more explainable why they did that to me, I mean I AM a 16yo, but when I said it they said it's okay and then I sent them my artwork and a few more conversations later, where I was supposed to start the job, they ditched me o.o
