Window Side Visitor

Oreana

It was a long way up to that part of the tower--Thunderhawk wasn't going to lie about that one to himself. His eyes scanned the area from where he stood out of sight before they drifted up to the top window, which was made of very old stained glass. Even his old eyes could easily see the silhouette of the woman he was practically banished from ever seeing again. A smile crept over his muzzle, but vanished quickly when he heard one of the mages wandering the area nearest to the tree he had to climb in order to reach that window that was several stories up. Ducking back out of sight once more, he watched the college student head to their room for the evening before digging his knuckles into the tree to climb up to his destination once all was clear.

"Banish me...bah!" Thunderhawk grumbled to himself, regarding what Troy had done to him. "Been training at this school longer than your parents have been alive!" Making it to one of the branches, the elder jumped upwards to another that wasn't too far from where the prior branch was located. The winter wind bit at his fur, making the trudge up the tree that much more difficult for him. However, he wasn't going to let that stop him, as the man who had framed him continued to flash in his mind. "I'll show you...!"

Sara-Li was having a hard time focusing on the healing spells she was trying to master after the news regarding Thunderhawk's banishment. Her fingers bent and wiggled slightly with little to no effort, causing nothing but a small whisp of a spell to emit from her fingertips for a moment to show her heart wasn't into the act. 'Banished for studying Necromancy...That's hard to...believe he would do that...' she thought, lidding her eyes in sorrow.

Bringing her hand back to her lap, she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. "You need to focus," Sara insisted to herself. However, that focus was quickly broken when a knock upon the glass window behind her startled her to her feet. "Oh--my!" Sara-Li exclaimed, dropping her book on the bench beneath her, as she jumped back a bit.

The image was skewed on the other side of the stained glass window, but she could easily see that whoever it was was indeed a person of some sort. Unlatching the lock from the inside, she opened the window and nearly felt her heart leap again. "Thunderhawk!" Sara-Li exclaimed. "What are you--How did you--!" She paused and corrected herself with a more worried frown. "You're going to be thrown in prison if you're caught up here!"

"Then I guess I don't have much time, do I?" Thunderhawk smirked, as he pulled out two flowers he was hiding away in his pocket until he reached her.

Sara-Li blinked with surprise at the mere fact he was able to find flowers at all given the harsh climate they were constantly stuck within. Reaching for them, she accepted the gift with a smile to him. "You really shouldn't be out there," she insisted with a teasing grin, it seemed.

"I know," scoffed Thunderhawk, from where he knelt upon the snowy branch, which was keeping his weight. "I will get caught, but I wanted to see you to tell you not to believe a word they say about me."

While she took it into serious consideration, Sara-Li pointed at the branch he was standing on. "No, I meant, you shouldn't be out there, because that branch is quite old, and it might snap under your weight. I wouldn't want any harm to come to a centuries old tree," she teased.

I've wanted to do a window scene for awhile now, but the last one I attempted didn't come out looking right...well, I tried again with Sara-Li, Kuro's, character with Thunderhawk, and it came out better than planned.

A Skyrim type story where Thunderhawk is an archer mage in the Mage's College with Sara-Li being a healer. Troy--who studies lightning--competes with Thunder for Sara-Li's hand, but when realizing Thunderhawk might have an advantage, he frames the elder for necromantic practices. Thus the fun begins.

I've already begun this story, and it is currently 5 chapters in, with the 6th one on the way. The uncut version is on MediaMiner.org while the soon to be butchered one will be on Fanfiction.net. When I get around to it, I'm sure I'll post the chapters here in due time.

Troy, Sara-Li: Kuro
Thunderhawk: Archie
