    From my ornithology days, I always told myself the willet didn't have any outstanding markings or nuances and was rather plain. This helped me keep it separate from some other wading birds that had more recognizable traits. Lovely shot!

      Their underwing patterning.jpg) is apparently rather striking, although I'm not sure I've ever actually seen one bother to take flight.

        That's a good point, but I have to agree I've never seen one take flight either. ^^;
