I saw this Super Mario Kart beta page from the cutting room floor which showed early versions of the flattening animations and I just had to bring it to life; using my own character though.

The animation looks still so I guessed on how he would flutter afterwards. In the final game it's sideways and backwards but I think I would rather love this way as well.
