I used the first draft of Page 2 and one other picture to test the color-correctness of Fed-Ex's large format scanner, and.. looks good! Nothing is too washed out to fix, which is absolutely glorious.
I'm planning on scanning about two sheets of illustrations a month (hopefully more) until I'm done, which means I SHOULD be able to have the inDesign document ready to print by, like... December or January, and then I'll decide if i want to go abroad and print hella copies, or stay close to home and print only a few. (If i go with the place I found in town, i can get as few as five copies of the book.. but they'll cost $50 apeice, BUT $250 is a way easier number to come up with than $5,000... decisions decisions.)
FedEx thank you for existing, you and your large format scanners are saving me something like $1200.
