Those aren't old fashioned snaps. Those are easy-overs, or offset-cam binders. You don't actually have to chain wrap them, they stay put on their own. I just do it to tidy the chain when it is at the edge of the deck.

Ah, okay! It's kinda hard to tell, with the chain wrapped around it. My boss swears by the old ones, and won't consider getting the ratchet/screw kinds. While he loads heavy shit on his own, we're usually there to make unloading faster. Let's put it this way, they usually scare the everliving fuck out of me when we're unsecuring an odd load that could shift at any moment.

I keep five of the easy-overs on board, four ratchets, and ZERO old style snaps. They don't call them snaps (or at least I don't) because they bang down. Call them snaps because that's what they'll do to your arm when the binder kicks the cheater bar back at you.
