Eliot — on watch.

NinjaKato

My character Eliot.

Eliot:

-Male
-Alaskan Malamute/Belgian Shepherd mix
-8 years old
-29 inches tall @ shoulders (VERY large; was bred to be large)
-100 lbs (Well built)
Background: Born in the kennels of a North German K9 supply/training facility, Eliot was shipped to the US at the age of 10 months to begin training to become a official police dog for the FBI. Although it was uncommon for dogs to be used as formal officers during this time period, Eliot’s ferocity and ability to be easily trained proved to be useful. By age 2 he was already a well established part of the FBI’s drug/police K9 task force which was slowly building in popularity. At the time he did not have a permanent human partner since animals of the K9 unit were still considered only ‘tools’ and not valid officers to the force, so Eliot was mainly only brought in when things got too out of hand and when the Police needed to ‘herd’ their quarry back in line.
Incredibly smart and clever, Eliot kept proving his ability to be able to aid in the take down and arrests of many underground booze workers, but his knack for finding hidden evidence was what he was really valued for.
After about a year on the force Eliot’s loyalty to the job was what made the FBI look into bringing more dogs onto the team, and soon another dog, this one from southern Italy was brought in to work alongside Eliot. Rico.
The younger dog was introduced a few years after Eliot was made part of the K9 team, and it was quickly learned that this new dog was a problem. He was anxious, moody, and unpredictable making him a menace to the force and a burden to every mission, and soon Eliot learned that the new K9 officer was deemed unfit for duty and confined until his fate was decided. Eliot had seen many other potential officers leave on short notice due to frailty or lack of compatibility to the force, but this new mutt Rico only seemed to show disrespect because he was scared. Eliot knew that someone would have to put the young dog back into his place soon, or the poor mutt was destined to be killed for being a malcontent. When finally given the chance, Eliot walked up to the skittish Rico in his kennel and easily threw down the younger dog without much of a fight. Rico was strong, but foolish and not very well trained in the art of canine combat. Eliot assumed that this was because unlike many of the other K9 officers before him, Rico hadn’t been socialized very well with humans, let alone other dogs.
However, once Eliot made it know that insubordination was not to be tolerated Rico quickly gave up his fears and made a valuable asset to the K9 team.
From then on, the two were inseparable and Rico thinks of Eliot as somewhat of a ‘big brother’. Whether or not Eliot feels the same way, he’ll never admit it.
Eliot takes his job seriously and as such every mission he is taken on or given is fulfilled to the best of his abilities and without a hitch, but with having to train Rico to be a formidable member of his team/pack, Eliot is often times also trying not to lose his cool. His cool temper and level head are his greatest assets, but Eliot can also be a very intimidating force if need be, however he relies more on his bark rather than his bite most of the time because he knows that if he did snap, he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from killing at the taste of blood.
