I started Brambles (the smaller magpie with white eyebrows) for practice. Every time I make an art doll, I learn something new! Then my husband and I were talking about birds, and he said magpies were pretty cool (he didn't know I was already making one) so I decided to make him one, too. His came out better, I think! They both came out cute and make a great couple. I LOVE how their tails and blue areas came out. If there's one thing I know, I know how to make things glittery (I LOVE SHINEY THINGS).

The biggest thing I don't like about this project is how dark the sculpted parts are. I coated all of the parts in Envirotex resin and it just darkened everything. I mean, if I had painted highlights on the sculpted parts, it probably wouldn't have been an issue... so again, another learning experience!
