His words rang out over the vast kingdom of the Riverlands. To his right stood his heir, Kiasi, and to his left was his adviser, Mavuto. His father's eyes stared back at him through his son. Saaka, second-born of King Kopa and his mate Asya, was in disbelief. All he had wanted to do was go out hunting and training with his friends. And here his father stood, denying him the chance. His father wasn't strict, but he put his foot down on issues involving Saaka's friends. Kopa hated the males that Saaka spent his time with, claiming that a prince shouldn't dabble with such low lives.

But Saaka didn't want to be a prince.

Kiasi obtained anything he desired, as was expected of the heir, but it left a sour note with Saaka. The second-born would have turned away if not for the next words out of his father's mouth.

"Insolent,"

As his father turned, Saaka swung his paw in a fit of rage. He felt his claws sink into his father's face. Fury struck his father's eyes, and Kopa launched himself at his son.
