In a way, I guess you could say this is fanart? It was inspired by a Dungeons and Dragons campaign that ran about two years ago which, unusually, got streamed on the interwebs and ended up gaining quite a fanbase. I was part of that fanbase, and it was really how I got into tabletop games in the first place.

Anyway, one of the characters in that campaign's party was an Artificer (for the unfamiliar: basically mechanics/engineers but with MAGIC), and one of his powers was Punishing Eye (a large AOE buff power).

I was inspired to come up with a design for it. The four-toothed cog was part of a recurring visual motif for the character. As for the "eye"... I think it speaks for itself. :P

Since then I've discovered Illustrator, InDesign and stuff like that. I wouldn't mind going back to this and redoing it to make it look neater; after all, I quite like the design.
