i completed the pokedex today and within 15 minutes of getting the shiny charm i found a shiny braixen
my advice: use as many layers as you need to. that's not too helpful but that's... pretty much what i do. just use a ton of layers for everything, haha.
thank you so, so much! you leave such kind comments & they make me smile a lot.
Is there any way that you make your vibrancy so.. soft, though? I think that's what enchants me so much, the softness~ and hey, some artists might tell me to just go figure it out myself entirely, so I appreciate your willingness to offer any advice.
You're quite welcome, I've enjoyed coming across your work recently, and I hope to see more!
just for reference, i use sai for most of my pictures. i think for the "softness" you're talking about i first did the shading+highlights in pen and then went over them with watercolour, and after that i used the eraser on full density to make it a little more refined and in the shapes that i wanted. unless you are referring to something else with softness... i hope that sorta answers your question though!
hehe i'm glad. i hope my work continues to please.
Congrats on completing your pokedex! :D I completed mine about a month ago. Can't say i've had any luck finding any shinies out in the wild/friend safari though, but I did go about breeding for shinies prior to completing my dex, and managed to get my own shiny fennekin and Honedge from it! :3
I'll be honest, at first I really didn't care for Shiny Fennekin and it's line, but i've since grown greatly attached to mine.
As for the picture, I love it to bits. The fire, and the shading/lighting coming from it is fantastic, and really makes that lovely purple pop all the more :3

Wow, more nice work from you, especially with that glowy effect around the fire and how it plays off the rest of the braixen. I really enjoy how you color; the vibrant, painting style is something I wish I could pull off. Any general advice for an amateur colorist?
