Finally did a reference for my character Berk. Narks are a closed species I made for adoptable purposes a few years back, but Berk's the only one that really made it out of that phase.

The original description of Narks:
Narks are solitary creatures with a brutish appearance, but in actuality they are mild-mannered beings. They are amphibious in nature with shark-like qualities, but share most of their ancestry with large sea mammals. Very protective of those to whom they are bonded, the Nark will use its large body to overpower foes and subdue them instead of killing. Narks have been likened to large dogs once befriended, able to understand commands and gestures given to them. They are incapable of regular speech, but they have been known to imitate sounds.
