Oh hello, Mr. Canine! Yes, I will shake your paw!
In all seriousness though, here's a sculpt for a new more realistic handpaw for my canine customers. This is just in the pre-detailing stage, so the pads need detailed and such, but I need to derive the pattern first. Claws are just for reference, because paws look really weird without them.
This looks pretty creepy at this stage, but I'd be remiss if I didn't admit I'm really proud of this sculpt! I'm trying to make them a little easier for me to make too, so perhaps I'll be able to offer them separately from partials again.
That sounds wonderful! I understand it would take quite a lot of work to do the paws alone so it would be a bit exhausted in the long run. I'm curious about one thing, if you don't mind me asking! Say you would offer handpaws as seperate parts, do you think you'd be able to use furs from Fursuitsupplies so that the paws would match the rest of my fursuit? :)
I don't work with DF-style furs, but depending on which furs that's very possible. I also have a very large stock of fur here, so I may well have it in stock already.
The furs I will be using for my upcoming fursuit will be Luxery Shag. Not sure from what maker. But if I ever order something from you it will most likely be a partial or a fullsuit so that all of the parts match, in case you are not willing to work the furs I use.
But those are things we could discuss at that point! Anyways, thank you so much for answering my questions and calming my curiousness. Much appreciated! :)
Unfortunately luxury shag and solid long hair are other names for DF-style fur. It simply doesn't hold up well for realism, as I found out the hard way on my first suit. You can kind of see it on these footpaws here: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/3868/fen-v1-footpaws how clumpy the fur has a tendency to get, in comparison to another more realistic fur used on these: https://www.weasyl.com/submission/3848/brown-canine-feral-v1-paws
I know that's probably a little bit of a disappointment, but I like my work to be durable enough to look good for years to come. In the end, I think that's better for everyone.
