Fur your reference

MistingWolf

Looking around, I could not find any good references for the direction fur should be going in on canines. However, I have this lovely book that I purchased from my local library after it was withdrawn from the shelf. It is titled "The Wolf: The Ecology and Behavior of an Endangered Species" by L David Mech (1970). I remembered seeing a fur slope diagram within it, and decided to scan it in. I admit that I made some minor adjustments to the flow of the inner ear, inner forearms, and tail (extended) for clarification.

I otherwise lay no claims to this diagram in any way, shape, or form. "Line illustration(s for this book [The Wolf]) was prepared by the Graphic Arts Division of the American Museum of Natural History." Please do not heavily edit or repost without giving credit as above.

Otherwise, enjoy!

Rather helpful indeed. I'm not exactly sure when I'll care enough to draw fur flowing in the right direction, but this is likely to help out some other people!

Well, it'll be here if that day ever comes, haha! I just hope somebody gets some use out of it. ^_^
