Best practice. I like how you used basics for each joint on the finger; not a lot of people realize how easy it is to mess up drawings hands, or how hard it can be to get them right. Very well done.

  It does make things slightly easier. I got that tip from a tutorial I found somewhere ages ago but now I can't remember who made it. :1 If I ever find it again, I'm going to share the link, it was really good.

    I started doing that as a result of getting tired of my fingers looks skewed and misplaced.
