This is a concept reference. Meaning, first draft. However, it was done so well, it might end up being her official reference.

Mita is my official second character. Her ref was finished before Fate, even though I thought up Fate way before Mita.

Mita was an idea that me and hida came up with. I asked Hida if it would be cool if I came up with like... a buddy character for him. Someone similar size as he is he could play with and sniff each others butts or something (dogs do it, don't dragons?). Originally, I thought of something like a fox squirrel like the one from Naussica as a buddy/sidekick to Max. BUT, then I thought, what if it was a dragon just like Hida? Maybe a red one, that's opposite to Hida in every way? And thus, Mita was born. She is female, and red, a fire dragon and not very social able. Opposite to Hida who is a male, blue, water/ice dragon and very friendly.

They are both the same size, and one final detail was their relationship. Hida, of course, has to have a crush on Mita. Mita, obviously, doesn't feel the same and throws fire in Hida's face no matter how many attempts Hida makes to earn her affect. Oh how fun will that be?! XD

Backstory: Mita is a rare miniature dragon, just like Hida. 1 out of 10 in a litter of dragons will me miniature. Simply, they are about 10 times smaller then a normal size dragon, and is born an adult, meaning they don't grow or develop past that size.

Now, the reason miniature dragons are rare is because they usually don't survive the first 2 days of being hatched. Their siblings will attack them, due to their small size, thinking they are a rat or other animal. Other times, siblings will recognize them, but their rough play will be too harsh for their miniature brother or sister and will end up killing them. 99% of all miniature dragons are killed within 3-4 days of birth.

Mita was rescued 2 days after birth, already scared from her brothers and sisters, as well as broken horn. Fate rescued and cared for Mita, amazed at how long she was able to survive. Fate also felt obligated due to the fact she killed Mita's mother in self-defense. Mita latched emotionally onto Fate within hours, and sees Fate as her mother.

EDIT: 1/1/12: I am moving this to scraps and changing the title. This is officially a concept and not Mita's ref. Her official ref will be done in a few days. I hate that this didn't make it to the final round, cause Lawlzy did a wonderful wonderful job. There are just changes to Mita's character that HAD to be made, and I could no longer use this as an accurate ref. :(
