This is Kira, a 1-year-old Husky Mix that I found while browsing a local shelter. Her history consisted solely of a single page sheet of medical data, and the address of the high-kill shelter in Northern Michigan that she was rescued from; that shelter also had no details on her besides her vet chart. Though I was warned that she wasn't too fond of men (and we all know what that means v.v ), she seemed to like me and we bonded right away. Acting on impulse, I adopted her and she has been with me for not quite a week. It has been just over a month since Shane passed away, and while it felt like it might have been too soon, it simultaneously didn't, if that makes any sense.

In any case, she already seems attached enough to follow me and jump up on me (albeit softly) when I get home, and I've already altered my routines so I could take her with me 80% of the time. While she isn't a replacement for Shane, who I still miss terribly, she makes it easier to deal with. By chance or fate, if you believe in such a thing, we have similar personalities; whereas Shane was a rambunctious and rowdy boy, she is quite and methodical.
