This time of year always had such a profound effect on the malamute. The coldness in the air outside with the flakes of snow silently falling to the ground. The eloquently decorated homes on the outside and in, the warmth coming from fireplaces, and from her family and friends, Aurra certainly loves this time of year. Aurra always is the type of person to be a giver, and beyond buying gifts, every holiday season she gets the “baking bug”. Not that she already doesn’t have it year-round, but it’s amplified quite a bit during the holidays.
This year was a bit different, because not only is she baking on the outside, but she’s also baking up a special gift on the inside. This special gift, Kendra, happens to have given Aurra an extra boost to her baking bug. Aurra’s always trying new baking recipes and improving her old ones, and it’s nice to have a little critic to help her out.
As her home was filling up with the aromas of her latest set of treats, Aurra smiled softly as she stared outside to observe the falling snow. With a blink, she felt Kendra stir from inside. Aurra giggled softly as she gave a little rub to her swollen middle, which had protruded some out of her shirt, “Anxious to try the treats little one…?” Soon her silent moment was cut off by the sound of the buzzer from the kitchen. With another louder chuckle, she stood upright as she headed back to see the product of her baking skills, “…so am I Kendra, hehe.”
Aurra opened the door of her oven and was greeted by the pleasant scents of her chocolate chip cookies. She inhaled deeply, and exhaled pleasantly as she set the tray on the counter to have the cookies cool off some, before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool off a bit more. Quietly humming to herself, she picked up the treats and set them onto a round platter, and shortly thereafter her ears twitch upon the sound of what seems to be some footsteps. She turns around with the tray of treats in her hands to find that she as an unexpected visitor. “Oh! Hey there sweetie, hehe, didn’t expect to see you here today. ^//^; Um, since you’re here, would you like to have a free sample of the sweet treats I have here?”
