Now, before my skaven awakening, I had, and still do, have a rather large fondness for other Warhammery critters- and this one is rather more applicable to many kinds of Warhammers than the rat was. Atryek the Guide is a daemon, a creature of magical psychic energy and nightmares, a shard of the Chaos God of Change, Tzeentch. As Tzeench is a consistently inconsistent, self-contradictory, overcomplicating nightmare vortex, it makes it really easy to come up with a plausibly justifiable backstory reason why you can talk to one of their Greater Daemons and not turn into screaming crystals or a pile of constantly cracking knuckles and elbows. Well, not -right away- at least. Unless you're into that.
Rejoice in hope! Just don't expect anything to be the same.
