Senka sometimes has a face, but when she's in your deepest dreams, rising from the slimy water, silently pointing as you stand frozen and just waiting for her to drag you down into the depths with her tentacles, she often chooses not to. Just seems to fit.

Senka isn't actually a malicious creature, though that's not at all obvious when you first meet her. She infects your slumber with her own distinct brand of horror, devouring all the pleasant dreams you would have had in the meantime. She's been known to prey upon the nervous and vulnerable, even the young.

But after a few nights with her, she starts to become familiar, strangely welcome. Dreamers start to find ways to banish her and keep her away from them while they dream. And later, they find themselves inviting her in, realizing that she's not so bad after all. Soon they wake up, with a new friend and more courage than they ever would have found on their own, much more confident and no longer crippled by irrational fear.

Her set of 'trophies' are actually collected from those kids who no longer need something to comfort them at night, usually offered as a gesture of friendship. That pacifier came from the youngest one to ever not find her scary anymore. Senka's very proud of her.

So go ahead. Close your eyes. It'll be alright.
