Here's a colored version of the same pic. I was playing with Photoshop for the background, using smoke and fire brushes, and some tutorials on how to do fire. I also did some effects for the glowing eyes. For the body, I practiced shading using yet another new shading tutorial, practicing it. Fire is all around, so I put shadows in the middle and lighting from both ends, and experimented with fire glows for highlights. So again, not sure if I like soft shading or flat two tone shading more. Both tend to look good to me for different things.
