And here's Brutala inked using Sai. There's a big debate over which is better between pencil artists and inkers. Some think pencils are better because you can blend and shade and smooth things out. Some drawing artists think inking destroys their details and butchers their art. Some inkers believe it makes things crisp and sharp, improving the pencils. I can't say which is better, but I know both advantages and disadvantages. Plus to master them takes a lot of skill and talent. Real life inking isn't something I enjoy. It's easy to make a mistake and then you have to use whiteout. It's messy, and what if you spill the ink?

Digital inking is a necessity. I could skip it and just draw pencils, and mess with contrast, but I like inked lines better for coloring and comic pages. The only hart part is making smooth lines, which Sai has been helpful in. Before that, I want smooth digital lines, and Photoshop never worked. Illustrator did a good job but I found it limiting. Sai is great for that and with practice, I hope to improve.
