I want to wish my mom a Happy Mother's Day! This is an art idea I've had for nearly five years, and I'm very happy to be capable of drawing it now. So this year, I decided it was time to stop everything else, and remember my mom in the form of a loving, graceful blue bird.

My mom did more than give me life; she gave me the gift of laughter, joy, even when I had none of my own. Her subtle, glowing smile is one of the most beautiful, prominent memories in my spirit, and it will always be in my heart. The happiness she imparted to me, her gentle, loving embrace, is what I wanted to celebrate on the canvas today. I turned back the clock to a time when I knew nothing about time, only her love.

No matter what the world threw at me, no matter how sick or upset I was, she was always there to make it better. I could tell her anything, and she would understand. Mom gave so much for me and my sister's sake, and taught us everything she could. And she was never afraid to be brutally honest, if it meant us learning from our mistakes. The both of us felt so loved and cherished in her arms.

I can't help thinking of her many sacrifices, her care, and gifts of love on this day. My mom was a true mother through it all. I love you, momma, and I think about you everyday. Today is your day for all your wonderful acts of devotion to be honored, and I wish you a wonderful Mother's Day. Your children love and cherish you with all our hearts, always.
